How to jump start a car and who to rely on

Jump Start Your Car With No Worry

24/7 Reliable Jump Start Service - Dfw Towing Services

Not all vehicle breakdowns require a tow. If it’s a car battery that fails you, all you’ll need is a jump start. Battery charges are much simpler fixes than say replacing a flat or repairing a vehicle after an accident. With that said, a dead battery has the same result—a non-drivable vehicle. Just in case, it’s important to have a towing company in your back pocket that provides emergency jump start service.

DFW Towing Services Jump Start

If you need an emergency jump start, call DFW Towing Services at (469) 208-4200. We have representatives available around the clock to help those in vehicle quandaries. Whether it’s 5 PM or 3 AM, we are here to help. Certainly, there is never a good time for a vehicle breakdown. There are better times than others, but no one ever wants to be stranded and unable to go where they need to go.

Jump starting a car doesn’t necessarily require professional service. It’s something you can probably handle, but you will need the assistance of another person and that person’s vehicle. To jump start a car, you have to:

  1. Grab a set of jumper cables
  2. Each car needs to be in park or in neutral
  3. Take one of the red clips and clip it to the positive terminal of your car battery. You should see a “+” symbol or something of the likes.
  4. Take the other red clip and attach to the positive terminal of the other vehicle.
  5. The black clip then goes to the negative terminal on the other vehicle’s battery.
  6. Take the other black clip and attach it to an unpainted metal part of our vehicle. DO NOT attach it to the negative terminal on our vehicle.
  7. The other car starts first, let it run for a few minutes and then try to start your car.

After this process, your battery should charge and you should be good to drive.

Seems simple enough, right?

However, it’s not always easy to get the assistance from another person. People aren’t always willing to help those who are stranded. You could be stranded in the middle of nowhere or maybe you don’t want to disrupt a friend or family member from work or sleep.

In such instances, give DFW Towing Services a call for an emergency jump start. We will get to you very quickly and provide a clean, struggle-free jump. In extreme cases, the car battery may be completely zapped and unrecoverable. We will arrive with our towing services so if you need to get your car to an auto repair shop, we can take you there.

A car battery can die as a result of leaving lights on (headlights, interior lights, hazards) or running the AC when the vehicle is not turned on. These actions drain the battery. Also, running your car for the first time after a long period of rest can negatively affect the battery, as can general cold weather.

Keep these factors in mind so you do not drain your car battery. But if you do, give us a call and we’ll execute an emergency jump start. Please visit our website—www.dfwtowingservices.com—and our blog for additional information on our services and tips on how to safely handle a vehicle breakdown.

Don’t stay stuck, call DFW Towing Services at 469-208-4200.
